*ling is a magazine project I undertook to tell the story of a particular event - the event being an intimate performance with an up and rising pop star through AirBnB Experiences. I wanted to shoot and document this event because my cousin was playing guitar and keyboard for this performance, and had heard lots about his work as a session musician for the pop star in question, Harriet Starling. I spent the day with them both and took the opportunity to explore photojournalism by interviewing them both while making notes on my phone to help me write articles later.
I printed this magazine onto textured, thick paper stock to communicate prestige alongside fashion-inspired serif fonts and editorial style photos. I also bound the magazine with a gold coloured thread to make the black and white front / back covers pop a little more.
